Don't be An Ignorant Frog!

You might have heard the story of  two frogs, one of  the frog fell into a can of boiling water but it immediately jumped out as the water was too hot and it was not able to bear the heat. Another frog also fell in a can of water, but the temperature of water was normal,  but the heat beneath the can was on. This frog started enjoying to swim in the water, a gradual increase in the temperature of water was not bothering it.  It slowly went into a comfortable stupor without realizing the rising temperature of water. And after a short while it allowed itself to be boiled to death.

Now, extrapolate the above story to our current health status. Aren’t we busy enjoying the comforts of life, helpers to do almost all of our household chores, drivers or cabs at our service, peons at a tab, eating out, ordering at home, partying, drinking, holidaying, all socialization over food and on top of that we justify doing all of these because we have work pressure, we have deadlines to meet, targets to achieve, we have cut throat competition and at the end of the day, we feel that we deserve to enjoy.

At times we do all this at the cost of our health. Aren’t we ignoring the heat of boiling water, the status of our health? There are times when we  realize the heat in the form of signals given by our body like low energy levels, lack of stamina, fatigue, weakness, dizziness, headaches, difficulty in concentrating, forgetfulness, breathlessness, palpitations, irritability, sleeplessness or  sleepiness etc.

But somehow we are so comfortable swimming in the pool of warm water and graduallly sinking ourselevs into the comforts of  life that we just ignore the signals or just don’t want to register them.

It’s time to act now, before the temperature rises too high and doesn’t allow us to jump out of the can of boiling water.

Here is a CHECKLIST for you to go through:

  • If you are living a sedentary life.

  • If you are sleep deprived.

  • If you have long screen time.

  • If you are exposed to free radical damage (smoking, pollution, aging, poor diet).
